Answers, Part One: A new lead in the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders

Apple Podcasts
Yvonne Weber and Maureen Sterling:
On February 4, 1972, Yvonne and Maureen went to the Redwood Empire Ice Arena like many students from their school. One of those students, their friend Mary, clearly remembers that night. She wrote into Jensen and Holes: The Murder Squad to share what she saw that night.

Mary says that she was invited by Yvonne and Maureen to go smoke pot with an older man in the grove next to the ice skating rink. Mary declined but said she got a decent look at the guy-he had dark hair, looked at least twenty, was slender and clearly didn't belong at the arena.

It was the last time she saw Yvonne and Maureen. Mary says the police came to the school after the two young teens disappeared. According to Mary, the police just wanted to know where the girls would have gone-not if she saw anything.

After all these years, Mary says the man she saw that night before her friends disappeared resembled a young Ted Bundy. She hopes by coming forward and giving this information, other people who were there that night might also come forward with information.

I-5 Strangler:
Several of the tips sent in by the Murder Squad regarding additional victims of the I-5 strangler-Roger Kibbe-were sent to Vito Bertocchini. One tipster wrote in giving more information on the case of Robbin Simpson. This additional information seems to make Roger Kibbe even more likely to have killed Simpson.

Alissa Turney:
Since coming on Jensen and Holes: The Murder Squad, Alissa's sister Sarah has started her own podcast. Voices for Justice is a deep dive into Alissa's case. Sarah continues to fight for justice for her sister by way of the podcast and staying on top of the Phoenix Police Department.

Abby Williams and Libby German:
Several Murder Squad members wrote in with the same theory: The person's voice heard in the video sounds like a teacher or coach by the way they use the word "guys."

We also received many tips of possible persons of interest. Those tips have been forwarded to law enforcement. Thank you, Murder Squad, for following the rules and NOT posting names and photos publicly. If you have any information, please continue to send it privately to us.

Murder Squad, thank you so much for all the tips that have come in over the past year. We are still looking for information on the above cases. Next week, we will give more updates. But if you have any additional information on these cases, please contact us.

1. Do not name names publicly. Send everything to the police or to this page and we will forward to the police.
2. Do not post side by side photos.
3. Do not contact any family members.
4. Do not doxx each other and be civil. We all want to the same thing.

As tips come in, Jensen and Holes will work to verify them. If they look good, we will publish them here to try and get us closer to their names.
